Apple unveils iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max with 120Hz screen and best camera ever

Today in Cupertino we were presented with some very cool gadgets. But the headliners of the whole event were the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Smartphones came out in four colors, one of which is new for us – sky blue. Even though outwardly the line of older iPhone models has not undergone almost any changes, internally these are completely new devices that have every reason to become the new leaders of the smartphone market. Let’s see why they are so good.

IPhone 13 Pro specifications

The hardware base of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max is the same as that of the iPhone 13. This is an A15 Bionic processor, which is 50% faster than competing chipsets. The amount of RAM – although Apple does not name it – most likely also remained at the same level. This is 6 GB. Yes, a little. Yes, less than most Android smartphones. But don’t forget that this is iOS. Here the logic of process control is different, and all the software in the App Store is adapted much better than any application from Google Play.

iPhone 13 Pro gets a new A15 processor and a 120Hz display

But the display of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max has been seriously redesigned. Older models received support for 120 Hz mode, which increases the refresh rate and makes the frame changes on the screen more frisky. Due to this, the effect of a smoother picture is created. True, in order not to greatly increase the power consumption, Cupertino made the refresh rate of the screen dynamic. It automatically adjusts to your use case and changes the frequency between 10 and 120 Hz.

IPhone 13 Pro camera

The iPhone 13 Pro’s camera has undergone some really big changes. Perhaps even more meaningful than the 120Hz display. Apple itself claims that this is the most significant camera upgrade in its smartphones in the entire history of the line. Here’s what happened:

  • Supports 3x optical zoom;
  • Ultra wide-angle camera: f / 1.8 aperture, autofocus, and 6-element lens;
  • Width: f / 1.5 aperture, improved low-light performance;
  • Macro shooting support;
  • Night mode on all three lenses;
  • New camera filters;
  • Support for portrait mode when shooting video;
  • Dedicated Cinematic Mode with Smart Autofocus
  • Support for slo-mo video when shooting macro objects;
  • ProRes support coming later this year

What does the iPhone 13 Pro looks like

The iPhone 13 Pro, like the iPhone 13, has a slightly larger display. But it increased not diagonally, but over the area of useful space. Apple has managed to reduce the size of the notch that hides the face recognition sensors by as much as 20%. True, Cupertino did not focus on this and provide accurate figures for increasing the display. Therefore, we will assume that there have been no changes as such.
The iPhone 13 Pro looks just like the iPhone 12 Pro, except for the reduced notch on the screen.
But in the color palette, there are also quite noticeable changes. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro max come in four shades: Silver Gray, Dark Graphite (Near Black), Gold, and Sky Blue. The latter will be the flagship color, which will replace the super popular dark green. True, it is not a fact that they will buy it as willingly. Still, some tenderness of the shade clearly will not contribute to its popularity among the male audience.

Prices for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have not changed in the market. While Apple has added a new 1TB version to the lineup, this hasn’t affected the price of the base version.

The start of accepting pre-orders for new items will begin on September 22, and they will go on sale on the 24th, that is, in just two days.
